We have powerful statistical software at our disposal, and a lot of experience in writing up research. Please talk to us about your research design before you undertake data collection, this can avoid costly and difficult mistakes that sometimes only emerge at a later stage.

Ethics and Regulatory Compliance
Ethics advice to individuals
When psychology practitioners encounter difficult ethical choices or dilemmas, it is recommended to consult with a senior psychology practitioner. Professionals are welcome to give one of our psychology professionals a call if they need to soundboard a decision or simply discuss their options. We do not charge for simple advice and initial consults.
Advice to organisations regarding ethics and regulations relating to assessment
This advice can take the form of an informal consultation, where, if necessary, a consulting project can be planned to address a formal compliance audit to advise practitioners and management. We can also assist in the formulation or revision of assessment policies for organisations.

Practitioner development
Whether you are a new practitioner in a corporate environment, or whether you are just starting a private practice, speak to us about developing the assessment skills, interviewing skills, reporting skills and other professional skills necessary to help you grow as a psychology professional.
It is important for us that you should succeed as an assessment practitioner, and that you should feel confident using our measures in the most professional, responsible way. This could mean that we recommend that you complete one or more of our formal training courses, but we also offer informal mentoring on technical, professional, and ethical questions that may arise during a psychology professional’s career.

New assessment technology
Sometimes it is not a person, team or organisation that needs to be developed. The target of development consulting can also be processes, techniques, software, training materials, assessment instruments, questionnaires, etc. In such a case, we can propose and quote in two ways:
- Where the client owns the intellectual property at the end of the project. Such development work is done at our premium consulting rate.
- Where the client pays to expedite and prioritise the development of particular technology, but Psytech still owns the intellectual property on completion, and may market the product to other clients.
Competency design
Psytech SA can offer job analysis and competency design services prior to an assessment project, or as a stand-alone service, after which the client can then utilise the information independently.
Mapping of existing competency models to Psytech measures
Sometimes clients already have a competency model in which they are invested, but they want help in understanding how Psytech instruments can be used to address those competencies. On a consulting basis, we can guide clients in the relationships between competencies and Psytech measures, indicating the relevance and importance of the different scales to the competencies that are in use. We can also guide clients in the selection of the appropriate reports and how to use them for the intended purpose.
Design and implementation of a customised Psytech 360 degree appraisal
It is entirely possible to use a clients own competencies for a 360 degree appraisal project, rather than to use Psytech’s standard “Fine Nine” competency model. Using a client’s competencies, or competencies developed for the client, we can implement the target behaviours on the Psytech GeneSys 360 system to enable clients to run an appraisal project economically and efficiently. The Psytech GeneSys 360 system is an established 360 degree appraisal tool available on the GeneSys Online assessment system that is ready to use with Psytech’s competencies and is highly customisable.
